ever since i bought this car i've been searching for a dual plane, high rise aluminum intake for cheap. last weekend i found one at a swap meet. it was in really good shape, the guy had it on his boat motor. it was an actual boat, the kind that floats on water, not a boat like mine. it is an Edelbrock performer for the olds 455. i unhooked everything from my stock cast iron intake manifold and removed it. i couldn't lift it out just by leaning over the fender! its that heavy. i had to sit on the fender with my legs in the engine compartment to reach down and lift it off.

fat block oldsmobile intakes are huge, this sucker weighs 60 lbs!!!! unreal, 60 lbs!!! did you hear me? 60 freaking lbs!! my new intake, freshly painted in the pic below weighs in at a measly 23 lbs!!! a weight savings of , anyone? anyone? thats right 37 lbs!!!

and no, i didn't pay $150, which would have been a good deal for this intake. they are all over ebay for 279.00 new. i talked him down to $100.00 which is a pretty sweet deal for an intake in such good condition. below is a pic with it installed and everything hooked up
