body work

first of all, safety glasses. get a pair and wear them! seven years ago i was under one of my cars cutting exhaust pipe with my die grinder and cutting wheel and got a sliver of rusty metal in the cornea of my right eye. i had to go to the hospital to have it removed. because it was rusty it left rust in my eye after the sliver was removed. they had to use a drill to ream out the hole to get the rust out. i can still see out of it o.k. but at night i see spiderweb effect around lights and it makes it hard to drive.

an air compressor for pneumatic tools. an air trap is a good idea too. it keeps moisture out of your tools. the air inside your air compressor gets hot and as it runs through the air hose it cools off and condensation forms in the hoses.

a nice clean work space is a plus.

an assortment of hammer and dollies for knocking out dings and dents.air hammer and chisels for removing sections that are too damaged to repair.

a measuring cup, my paint gun is a siphon feed type of gun with an air pressure gauge attached at the air inlet. read the label on your paint and follow the manufacturers recommendations for usage. you should find a panel at your local junk yard to practice on. that way if you mess up, you don't mess up your baby.
